Week of Prayer and Quarterly Lock-in - Success!

We would like to thank everyone for your support of the Metropolitan SDA Church’s Youth Week of Prayer! We had a great turn-out and met some really awesome people. We would like to thank our friends from the Southwest Region Conference and buddies from various churches in the Greater Houston Area. We would love to hear about any programs or events your youth group is hosting, so please drop us a line; we’d love to support you guys too! This past weekend, the Youth @theMet held their quarterly lock-in in the faraway land of Crosby, Texas, hosted by Jennye and Bryan Baysa. The youth members feasted on a decadent smorgasbord whisked together by Jennye and Ellen, which included topped eggplant parmigiana with a savory tomato sauce, garden vegetable fettucine alfredo and a made-from-scratch tiramisu!

After dinner, the youth took some time and opened the lines of communication, discussing ways in which the dynamic of our youth group could improve. In a discussion with our awesome youth elders, Kyle and Bryan, the youth talked about the representation of the youth and how to portray ourselves in a manner that reflects Christ 100% of the time. Looking back, I realize how blessed we are to be able to talk to each other in that way. Praise God. After our discussion and a worship, also led by Kyle, it was time for fun, fun fun — XBOX 360, Cranium, Apples to Apples… Do I dare mention what time we tucked in? (whispers - it was about 5:00 a.m.)

You can next catch the members of the Metropolitan SDA Church Youth Group at the local Bible Bowl competition on May 17, 2008. Which reminds me… Bible Bowl teams, happy studying!
